Matthew A. Kaness has served as Chief Executive Officer and Board Advisor of GoodwillFinds Ecommerce, Inc., a new not-for-profit venture launched in partnership with the $7B+ annual revenue social enterprise and #1 U.S. thrift store operator, Goodwill®, to build and scale a branded second-hand DTC marketplace and technology platform that accelerates the growth of local Goodwill's re-selling their donations, with all net proceeds going back to the communities where the donations originate. Matt joined pre-revenue in summer 2022, launched that Q4, and the startup has delivered over $50M GMV back to participating local Goodwills since launch.

Mr. Kaness is a highly accomplished Growth and Innovation- oriented Entrepreneur, Operator and Strategist at some of the most creative, beloved, purpose-driven brands in the Digital Commerce, Fashion Retail and Consumer Technology industries, including: Goodwill, ModCloth, URBN (Urban Outfitters, Anthropologie, Free People), Walmart Ecommerce US, Lucky Brand Dungarees, Afterpay, Burton Snowboards, Flexsteel Industries. Matt is a multi-stage fiduciary, having served on numerous public and private company boards, and is an active angel investor and advisor to numerous startups. He holds a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the Catholic University of America and an M.B.A. from the University of Virginia Darden School of Business.
