Matt Baer was named Chief Executive Officer of Stitch Fix in June 2023, bringing extensive retail leadership experience across a variety of disciplines to the company – from merchandising and marketing to digital and supply chain. Matt is a seasoned, customer-centric leader with a proven track record leading teams in times of transformation. He joined Stitch Fix from Macy’s, Inc. where he served as the Chief Customer and Digital Officer. In this role, Matt was responsible for the strategic long-term vision for both Macy’s and Bloomingdale’s digital businesses, as well as Macy’s broader strategy to build deeper relationships with its customers. Prior to Macy’s, Matt was Vice President of eCommerce at Walmart.com, where he played a key role in the transformation and scale of Walmart's digital business. Earlier in his career, Matt founded a digital marketplace and held executive positions at two retail startups. He began his professional career as an attorney practicing complex commercial litigation. Matt’s love of retail and customer obsession traces back to a young age when he worked for his family’s furniture business in Florida. Matt holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Michigan’s Ross School of Business and a law degree from Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law at Yeshiva University.
