Lisa Roath is the executive vice president and chief marketing officer for Target Corporation and a member of its leadership team. In her role, Lisa oversees the company’s core marketing functions including creative, guest marketing strategy, retail brand experience, social media, paid media strategy and marketing strategy and operations, with a focus on stewarding Target’s beloved brand.

Lisa joined Target in 2006 and has held a variety of leadership roles within the company. She was promoted to senior vice president of food and beverage merchandising in 2020, where she was responsible for all buying for Target’s grocery business and led its rapid digital expansion in food. In her role as vice president of essentials merchandising, Lisa oversaw Target’s baby, health and household commodities divisions. Prior to that, she established a new capability for Target focused on maximizing the effectiveness of its pricing and promotions strategies. She also served as lead architect for a transformation of Target’s merchandising organization, blending its physical and digital buying functions to deliver a more seamless and holistic experience for Target’s guests and team.

Prior to joining Target, Lisa held roles at Limited Brands, Marshall Field’s and L.E.K. consulting, a U.K.-based firm.

Lisa received her bachelor’s degree from Northwestern University and earned an MBA from Harvard Business School.
