Kristen Hawley is a freelance journalist and founder of Expedite, a newsletter about restaurant technology and the future of hospitality. She has covered the restaurant industry for over a decade, chronicling the rise of companies including Uber, DoorDash, and Resy and their effect on the dining experience. She contributes regularly to Fast Company, and is responsible for curating its annual list of the most innovative companies in dining. Her work has also appeared in Food & Wine, Eater, Bon Appetit, Business Insider, the San Francisco Chronicle, and more. She lives in San Francisco.
