Jelena Zec, based in San Francisco, is a Partner at Citi Ventures, where she leads investments in Gen AI applications, fintech and commerce. Her investment portfolio includes Gen AI applications such as Writer and Norm Ai;wealthtech platforms including Wealth.com, Vega, and Unlimited; fintech platforms and lenders such as ChargeAfter, Defacto, and Anyfin; payments, cards, and commerce enablers like Finix, Tuum, Clara, and Point.me. 

She spent her career to date in venture capital and growth investing. Prior to Citi Ventures, Jelena was at Unilever Ventures, where she invested in startups shaping the future of commerce. In her spare time, she mentors, advises, and angel invests in impact-focused startups and diverse founders. 

Jelena is a frequent speaker at key industry events such as Money20/20, Finovate, and MWC. A recognized thought leader, she frequently writes on topics on topics such as generative AI in financial services, with recent publications including “New GenAI fintechs are driving AI further into financial services” and "The Modern Wealth Planning Stack”.

Having lived in cities from London to Hong Kong, Shanghai, and Milan before making San Francisco her home, Jelena brings a global perspective and seeks to build meaningful partnerships with founders from all backgrounds. She holds a Double Degree MSc in International Management from Bocconi University and Fudan University and is currently pursuing a wine diploma, blending her passion for education with her love for fine wines.
