Billy May



Billy May is a 4th generation retailer who brings over 25 years of hands-on experience transforming, managing, and scaling customer-focused brands.

Currently, Billy is Chief Executive Officer and Board Member at Brooklinen, the Internet’s most awarded home essentials brand currently celebrating its 10-year anniversary.

Prior to his appointment, he served as Chief Customer Officer at Urban Outfitters, Inc as well as J.Crew Group with responsibility for all customer facing aspects of the business.  Previously, Billy was CEO of Sur La Table, a premium kitchenware brand and retailer, and held executive leadership roles in marketing, ecommerce, and corporate development at global brands including adidasGroup and Abercrombie & Fitch Co.  He began his career as a merchant trainee and buyer within the May Company Department Stores organization.

Billy received his BA with Honors and Distinction from the University of Virginia and a MBA from the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University.
