Daniel Maturana is co-founder and Chief Machine Learning Scientist at Gather AI. Founded in 2018, Gather AI has built the leading drone-powered inventory monitoring solution for warehouses. As Chief Machine Learning Scientist, Daniel is responsible for the technology enabling drones to track inventory using image data. Daniel has worked at the intersection of computer vision, machine learning, and robotics for the past 14 years. During his doctoral studies at Carnegie Mellon University, he made several high-impact contributions, including the first use of modern Deep Learning techniques to classify point clouds with 3D Convolutional Networks. He is a recipient of the Qualcomm Innovation Fellowship and was ranked among the top 100 most influential scholars in robotics by the Aminer Scholar database.
