We’re excited to have you as part of Shoptalk’s Slack Workspace, which allows the retail industry to share feedback on and share ideas relating to the Shoptalk Retail Framework for COVID-19.

We expect members of the Shoptalk Slack Workspace to act in a way that creates and nurtures an environment which is harassment-free, safe, comfortable, and enjoyable to be a part of, whoever you are. We do not tolerate harassment of participants or unacceptable behavior in any form. Participants asked to stop such behavior are expected to comply immediately. This document is intended to help us hold to high community and collaborative standards and provide a clear framework for doing that.

Unacceptable behavior

To help participants understand behaviors that are unacceptable, we’ve listed below actions that violate this Code of Conduct. Shoptalk’s Slack Workspace is intended ONLY for public comment and communication in the channels set up by Shoptalk. Specifically, you may:

  1. NOT Direct message (DM) any other member for any reason whatsoever.
  2. NOT use Shoptalk’s Slack Workspace as a sales, promotional or marketing platform, which means absolutely NO pitching or sales outreach to members, including on any public channel.
  3. NOT invite members to participate in surveys, studies or activities outside of the Workspace, including in-person or virtual events other than Shoptalk or Groceryshop events.
  4. NOT make offensive comments related to gender, gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, disability, mental illness, neuro(a)typicality, physical appearance, age, body size, race or religion.

This list does not cover every case. Each person you interact with is unique, and as a result can define a line of unacceptable behavior that’s unique to them. Ensuring that your behavior does not have a negative impact is your responsibility.

Please report any Direct Messaging or other inappropriate behavior to Shoptalk Admin on slack, or email info@shoptalk.com. While we may act on reports, all reports will be kept confidential.

Slack channel members asked to stop any inappropriate behavior must comply immediately. Shoptalk may take any action we deem appropriate, including warning the offender, removing their messages or posts and banning that person from our Slack Workspace without notice.

Anything you post on Slack is public. Please exercise caution and refrain from sharing sensitive information that could harm you, your company or others.
