Sarah Engel is the Vice President of Marketing and Creative Communications at Lilly Pulitzer, the heritage women’s lifestyle brand known for bright prints, authentic resort wear and eternal optimism. Sarah is driven daily by purpose, creativity, connection, innovation and joy, and these goals have led her through her 20+ year career in the fashion, retail and technology industries. Her career has been focused on brand marketing and communications, with a passion for data action and customer understanding.
Before joining Lilly Pulitzer in January 2019, Sarah was Chief Marketing Officer at DynamicAction, a retail advanced analytics company. There she helped retail organizations including Eddie Bauer, Columbia Sportswear, Farfetch and Mulberry to better understand and take action on their cross-channel data.
Sarah has a strong track record of guiding private companies through successful funding and acquisitions as well as public companies through rapid growth initiatives. She has offered strategic business leadership, brand marketing oversight, communications and customer acquisition strategies to some of the world’s most notable brands including Chevrolet, Match.com, Travelocity, Estee Lauder and eBay.
She was the founder of Elegant Disruption, Inc., a high-growth strategic consulting firm, parlaying her passion for cultivating brand resonance, driving customer centricity and establishing market leadership for fashion, retail and retail tech companies. Sarah previously served on the executive team and led marketing for a leading private digital marketing agency, Range Online Media, to the point of acquisition. She then took the reins on all marketing for the parent company iProspect.
Sarah is passionate about mentoring the next generation of world-changers as well as supporting and championing women and girls, and consults with female founders in retail and tech. She is a member of the Women’s Wear Daily Women in Innovation Advisory Board, the Women in Retail Leadership Circle Advisory Board and in 2017, was selected by Women’s Wear Daily as one of the “Top 20 Women in Business.” Most recently, Sarah was named a “Top Women in PR Honoree” by PR News.
