Melissa Eamer is the Chief Operating Officer of Glossier, the digital-first beauty company that’s changing how the world sees beauty. Founded in 2014, Glossier is the pioneer of a “skin first, makeup second” beauty philosophy that celebrates individual freedom and choice.

Prior to joining Glossier, Melissa spent 19 years at Amazon, most recently as Vice President of Device Sales & Marketing. Previously, Melissa was the Vice President of the Sports, Outdoors, & Toys businesses as well as the Retail Leadership Development team from 2013 to 2017. 

Over the course of her career at Amazon, she held many different roles, including leading retail businesses including Books, Music, DVD and Home & Garden; serving as the Technical Advisor to Consumer Business CEO Jeff Wilke; starting a new device team on digital projects; and leading the Kindle Content Team. She also oversaw initiatives from launching the company’s Canadian website, to the Look Inside the Book preview feature, to creating new Kindle book stores in multiple countries.

Melissa received her MBA from the Ross School of Business School at the University of Michigan and holds a BA in English from the University of Vermont. Prior to business school, Melissa owned and operated a restaurant for ten years in Richmond, Vermont. She lives in Seattle, Washington, with her husband and two daughters. In her free time, she enjoys spending time outdoors racing and riding with an all-women cycling team.
