Global VP, Ads Marketing
Marie Gulin-Merle is Google’s Vice President of Global Ads Marketing. With over 20 years of marketing and digital transformation experience, her goal is to help businesses around the world get online, thrive, and grow through the transformative power of digital technologies. Her responsibilities include building and executing a global Marketing strategy for Google’s Ads business and advertising products. Her teams partner closely with Google’s Ads Sales, Product, and Engineering teams to help large enterprises and millions of small / medium businesses build their presence online through Google’s free and paid products, and make the most of the web. Marie also leads the teams who are defining marketing for marketers, including Media Strategy, Execution and ROI for all Paid Media across Google's Marketing campaigns, and teams dedicated to helping users discover, use and love Google's Mobile Apps, and improving Google products through understanding human behavior.
Prior to joining Google, Marie was the Chief Marketing Officer of Calvin Klein Inc and Chief Digital Officer of its parent company, PVH Corp. She also previously served as the Chief Marketing Officer for L'Oréal USA, where she successfully transformed the company’s marketing functions and reinforced its industry leadership, particularly in the areas of digital innovation, consumer and market intelligence, media investment and data-driven marketing.
Marie’s achievements have been recognized by numerous organizations and she has been hailed as a “Power Player in Marketing and Advertising” by Ad Age in November 2017. She was included in WWD’s “10 Most In-Demand Execs in Digital Beauty, Fashion and E-Commerce” list in 2016; was featured in Ad Age's “40 Under 40” list; made Business Insider’s “Most Innovative CMOs in the World” list in 2016 and 2017; and was named as Consumer Goods’ 2018 CMO of the Year.
