GVP / General Merchandise Manager - Beauty and Personal Care
Lauren Brindley has been the Group Vice President & General Merchandise Manager for Beauty & Personal Care at Walgreens since September 2015.
Lauren began her career at Tesco Plc the leading British multinational grocery and general merchandise retailer in 2000 and then after 4 years of upward progression in marketing & merchandising roles moved to join Boots UK.
Over the next 11 years, she advanced through positions of increasing responsibility in buying, merchandising, brand & general management. In 2007 she became Country Manager, Hong Kong & Taiwan for Boots Retail International where she was accountable for the company’s operations in both Asian markets.
Upon returning to the UK, she led the company’s successful relaunch of its hero No7 brand and created & executed a 3 year strategic growth plan for the Fragrance & Prestige Beauty business. She also developed the new Boots retail & pharmacy business strategy.
After the formation of Walgreens Boots Alliance, Lauren was promoted into the role of Group Vice President for Beauty & Personal Care in 2015, based in the US.
Under Lauren’s leadership & expertise, Walgreens has embarked upon a multi-year, multi-stage transformational strategy to become a preferred beauty destination in US. Walgreens was recognized for its progression towards this goal, when they were honored as Beauty Innovators of the Year in 2017.
Lauren has been honored as one of the Most Influential Women in Retailing by MMR for the last 4 years. She has also been on the Board of Governors for CEW, Cosmetic Executive Women since 2016.
Lauren holds a BA Honors Degree in Business Management from Newcastle University, UK and lives in Glencoe, Illinois, US with her husband and two children.
