Garrett Waggoner

Co-Founder & CEO

Cirkul

Garrett Waggoner is the co-founder and CEO of Cirkul, an innovative beverage technology company on a mission to help people drink more water. In 2013, during his senior year at Dartmouth College, he and football teammate Andy Gay were struggling to pour electrolyte powder into a plastic water bottle while studying. With a messy table in front of them, the two had a thought: What if there was a water bottle that flavored water as you drank it, without powders or drops, that didn’t need shaking or stirring?

After dubbing their idea “the water bottle project,” Garrett and Andy entered their concept into an entrepreneurship competition hosted at Dartmouth, taking home an initial $16,000 in funding. Upon graduation, Garrett was valeting cars while simultaneously working to launch Cirkul, which officially hit the market in 2018.

Cirkul is based in Tampa, Florida where Garrett lives and works full-time, the company also has a satellite office in Boston. After a Series A fundraise round of $6.6 million in 2020 and a $30 million Series B round in 2021, Cirkul is continuing to expand — both in its product offerings and its employee base, which has reached more than 200.

Garrett has Bachelor’s degrees in History and Economics from Dartmouth College.
