Pinatel is a beauty industry veteran with 20 years of experience building fast-growing, large-scale retail operations. He joined Birchbox as President and Chief Operations Officer in 2015 to oversee several core functions of the business, including merchandising, product development, retail, operations and international, with a focus on strategic growth and reinforcing the company as a major beauty retailer.

Prior to joining Birchbox, Pinatel served as SVP and GM of Sephora Canada, and VP and GM of Sephora Inside JCP, where he was responsible for omnichannel efforts that led to a measurable gain in market share and increase in sales. He previously spent 11 years at Guerlain International, leading operations in several international markets throughout his tenure, including France, Korea, Northern Europe and China.

Pinatel, who was born and raised in France, holds an M.B.A. from London Business School and a Bachelor’s Degree in International Marketing from Nanyang Technological University in Singapore.
