CMO, Retail Cards, Synchrony Financial
As the Chief Marketing Officer for Retail Cards, Whit brings a passion for driving growth for Synchrony’s major partners through analytic insights that lead to value proposition development resulting in loyal customers. He leads growth, product strategy, product development, analytics, and channel marketing for the platform. Products include co-branded Visa and MasterCard credit cards as well as private label consumer and commercial cards.
Prior to being named CMO, Whit led the marketing organization for 15 relationships spanning multiple retail formats and channels. He also led Marketing on the Lowe’s business where he developed and launched the industry leading 5% off or special financing choice value proposition. Whit is a graduate of the GE Capital Marketing Leadership Program and has held roles in Marketing, Quality and General Management over his 20 years at GE and now Synchrony.
Outside of work, Whit is an Executive mentor & sponsor for the Charlotte FinTech program through Packard Place and serves on the Charlotte Mayor’s FinTech Advisory Board.
Whit has his MBA from Wake Forest University and a BA in Economics from the University of North Carolina.
