Nick Huzar is founder and CEO of OfferUp, the largest mobile marketplace for local buyers and sellers in the United States. A category pioneer with a track record of leadership in high-growth enterprises, Nick brings his experience to the challenge of creating the simplest, most trustworthy way to buy and sell locally.
With the founding insight that friction in local buying and selling processes prevents people from realizing the value of the unused things around them, Nick and co-founder Arean Van Veelen set out to build a marketplace where convenience and trust bring people together.
Starting with just a picture from a smartphone, sellers can post items on OfferUp in under 30 seconds, and buyers can browse thousands of listings nearby. The free app for iOS and Android has been downloaded more than 33 million times, and in 2016 alone, OfferUp will facilitate more than $14 billion in transactions.
As OfferUp continues to grow, Nick remains focused on inspiring his teams to express their creativity through innovative product design that helps OfferUp’s community of users succeed.
His user-first philosophy comes from years of experience helping businesses in competitive sectors differentiate themselves and grow ahead of their markets. As co-founder and CTO of Konnects Inc., Nick led his teams through an explosive period of growth. Prior to Konnects, he guided the development and integration of web applications for T-Mobile.
A Puget Sound native, Nick is honored to contribute to the region’s strong startup culture, and he looks forward to OfferUp’s continuing run as an employer of choice.
